As a smaller space industry actor, my company must rely on opportunities to test its equipment in Space: we get valuable experimental data and we can demonstrate to customers and investors our progress towards reliably deploying our solutions in space.
These last minute opportunities combined with the usual pitfalls of developing your own space-grade HW create extremely tight development schedules. When you do not have time to create and deploy an embedded Linux, you need to get creative.
This talk will tell the story of how Rust and its striving embedded ecosystem allowed my team to quickly build the necessary foundations so we could boldly but safely seize such opportunity.
